Parklane Shopping shop sells more than items.

The local who shops at PARKLANE Shopping Mall are getting more than what is on the menu it seem. A customer commented that one could get more than a rub on the spa or parlours on the 3rd to 5th floor. It seems that after the customers enter the cubicle, the door is locked behind and the real menu is on the table. For the price three times more, your backhurt dissappears and reappears on your wallet.

Some undercover customer were surveying the floors of disrepute last week. The operators, who do not speak local mandarin , will open the real menu , once the customer is pinned down and feeling more than comfortable. Once the price is right, the door is locked and the customer will be led to the inner portion where the mattress and partitions are placed.
The presence of those spa or parlour have upset the other shop owners who sell other kind of goods. Such sleaze would deters family type to patronise the mall, but the current economic crisis makes such policing untenable. Most of the malls are having trouble having customers to come in.

Some neighbouring shopkeepers disagree on making such a broad statements. There are shops and there are shop that toe the line. It does bring in other traffic, unintended kind, possibly not with the kids in tow.

It seems that the local authorities were aware of the situation, saying enforcement actions are routinely taken at the mall. However , a complete sterilisation of any shopping mall is not possible, wasting resource and time. They could legally reappear as some other name and some other place. And then the space became vacant. Therefore most owners do not strictly enforce the regulations, they are more concerned on the bottom line.

For the record, raids are conducted frequently at such parlours, especially on the valid work permit and valid licence. They revealed that for the year 2007 to 2008, 489 and 542 checks were done , arresting 823 and 693 people. It seems at this juncture, most mall will not enforce the rules rather let it run out it course in this recessions.
