Pegasus defends Singapore

The Pegasus is made in Singapore but no sitting duck.
Its only other equivalent in the world is the American M777, but even that pales in comparison to the Pegasus and the differences are great.
The M777 is not heli-portable and does not have an auxiliary power unit, said Mr Teo Chew Kwee, deputy general manager of Kinetics Design and Development. He was speaking to my paper at the Defence TechX exhibition yesterday.
He led the team of engineers at ST Kinetics that came up with the world's first lightweight, self-propelled 155mm howitzer. A creation of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), the Defence Science & Technology Agency and ST Kinetics, the Pegasus is slated to replace the SAF's 37 ageing French Nexter Systems towed 105mm LG1 light guns.
Mr differences that Pegasus packs more punch are he said are:
* Auxiliary Power Unit (APU)
It provides the gun with a short-range self-propelled capability. With the APU, the system can manoeuvre over terrain at a speed of 12 kmh. Mr Teo said: "By incorporating this power pack, we allow the Pegasus' functions to be automated. This is unlike the M777, which is manually operated by six people on each side of the legs, with brute force.'
* Ammunition Loading System (ALS)
Powered by the APU, the ALS loads ammunition to alleviate crew fatigue. This allows the crew to operate the Pegasus longer with a burst rate of three rounds in 24 seconds. "It's like sticking a bomb into the barrel,"
* Innovative recoil management
The recoil of the Pegasus is a third lower than conventional 155mm howitzers. "That's how we reduce the overall loading on the gun structure," he explained.
* Ease of deployment
The Pegasus is easy to configure. Through a simple seesaw action that shifts the gun's centre of gravity to suit different missions, it can be deployed in less than 2.5 minutes with eight men. He said: "An M777, when fired upon, cannot move. But the Pegasus can quickly fold up and move elsewhere."
* Lightweight materials
The Pegasus employs lightweight materials like titanium and high-alloy aluminium that provide the strength and stability required to withstand the recoil force. "The Pegasus looks totally unconventional. Every component is multi-tasked," he said.This baby is the best of Singapore,by thinking out of the box.

Defending Sin, SAF Uniform pixellated !

Our men in green have been finally pixellated, to blend into the background of the theatre of operations.Originally 04 in 1983,it has black brown and green splotches interlocking blend.
The single colour temasek was the original seen in the formation of the SAF. The rank is proposed to be in front pocket instead of epaulette on the shoulder.It is worn tuck out instead of the earlier earlier tuck in British spit and shine looks which looks goood for parade ground, but wont win wars nor scare the shit out of the enemy,when the air circulations in the hot tropical sun incapicitates the soldiers in uniform even before a shot is fired. Thus we were quite happy not to polish the damn boots to mirrors shine level and to let the shirt tuck out. I remember the change parade in basics class, a lots of broken bones ,five am in the morning. Wonders if these change parade are banned. A thinking Army, a civilians ,a Sinscitizens.these will defend Singapore . Anyway the 300000 active and fulltime servicemen should remember, to serve and defend the SinsCity way of life.

Rifle,NS and the Oaths,defending Sincity.

The Swiss have a rifle in every citizen.Locked and to open in time of emergency. The oaths,to use it to defend the country makes it unconquerable, thru 2 world wars.Neutrality and the constitutions forge the Swiss into a remarkable country.Can Sincity emulate that qualities ? The second ,breaking of the oaths,of it kind makes the breaker of the law gets 9 years and strokes of the cane. The first happens in the vicinity of Macrithie Reservior in a private dwellings,decades ago.This is to remind us that defender of the nation cannot break the sacred oaths.The rifle cannot be use against civilians or domestic squabble. Perhaps,every Singapore National Rifle,needs to have electronic user and rifle interlock to prevent usage per owner. Press a button, all rifles within an area usable.Alternately,the commander authorise the group use.Bring it out of the area,it disables. Tracking and Gps makes the rifle as clear as cars on road for the commander. No misuse.Out of authorise user,it became just a piece of metal. It takes time, education and other factors to make Sincity,the equal of Swiss in this area, the rifle and the national defense.Defending the nation.Not Domestic misuse.
